Men's Basketball/Baseball Athlete: 1997-1999
Corey Fox came to Danville Area Community College in the fall of 1997 from Paxton High School in Paxton, Illinois. Corey competed in both men's basketball and baseball during his career at DACC and made an immediate impact in both. He was a member of the All-Region 24 baseball team in 1999 as well as the All-Region 24 Tournament team, a team which won the Region 24 Championship. Corey was a leader of the 1998-99 basketball team that finished second in the nation. He was named "Best Small Man" at the NJCAA National Tourney in 1999 as well as earning All-American honors that year. He was Freshman of the Year in the conference in 1998 as well as being named to the All-Region 24 team in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Corey went on to compete in basketball at Western Illinois University for one season before moving on to Limestone College his senior year. He currently resides in Gaffney, South Carolina and is the Head Women's Coach at Limestone College.Â
