Barb was instrumental in starting women's athletics here. Women began competing in athletics in the late 1960's in volleyball, softball and basketball; and Barb was involved in all of them. However, DACC officially began competing in women's athletics in 1972 after Title IX was passed. She was the Head Volleyball Coach until 1978 and Assistant Softball Coach until 1976. Barb retired from DACC in 1994. Barb passed away in 2017 at the age of 79.
