Jaguars Win Two on Opening Day

Game One
 
Vinson's Walk-Off Gives Danville the Opening Victory Over Ivy Tech
 
It came down to the wire on Saturday, with the Jaguars taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Ivy Tech. The game was tied at three with Danville batting in the bottom of the eighth when Chase Vinson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Ivy Tech got on the board in the second inning with a solo homer.
 
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Danville tied things up at three.  Dawson Johns hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.
 
Luke Olson pitched the Jaguars to victory. The righthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three.
 
Jake Andriole started the game for Danville. Andriole went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out five and walking zero
Keegan Nickoson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Jaguars in hits.
 
 
 
Game Two
 
Jaguars Nabs Win Over Lincoln Trail Despite Early 3-Run Inning
 
The Jaguars managed through a push by Lincoln Trail in the seventh inning where Danville coughed up three runs, but the Jaguars still won 9-4 on Saturday. 
 
The Jaguars got on the board in the first inning when Jon Latham singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Danville put up three runs in the fourth inning.  Andy Bunton, Kyle Bartman, and Latham each had RBIs in the big inning.
 
Cj Backer led the Jaguars to victory on the pitcher's mound. Backer allowed five hits and one run over five and a third innings, striking out ten and walking one. 
 
Riley Hershberger threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
The Jaguars totaled 12 hits.  Bunton, Bartman, Jaden Miller, and Chase Vinson all managed multiple hits.  Bartman and Bunton all had three hits to lead the Jaguar offense.  Danville stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Ethan Hall led the way with two.  Danville didn't commit a single error in the field. Latham had the most chances in the field with ten.
