Jaguar Baseball Splits Weekend with Vincennes

VINCENNES, IN & DANVILLE, IL - Danville baseball continues to work through their 2026 season, and recently split their weekend with Vincennes University.

(March 28th) Game 1 vs Vincennes
Danville (14-14)  played the Trailblazers (13-21) in the first doubleheader in Vincennes, Indiana on Saturday. In game one, the Jaguars were dominant and continued to add pressure to the home team with their offense. Danville brought three runs across in the top of the second, then added ten more in the top of the third, and four more in the top of the fourth. They held Vincennes to just three hits and ended the game in five innings with a 17-0 victory.

Isaac Lawson was 3-3 at the plate with 5 RBIs, while Jaydon Riggs was 2-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Eric Rodriguez earned the win on the mound with four strikeouts.

(March 28th) Game 2 vs Vincennes
Game two on Saturday was also high scoring, with both teams producing a lot on offense. Vincennes got on the board first with four runs in the bottom of the first, then Danville scored three in the top of the second before the Trailblazers added to their lead to make it 7-3 after two innings. Danville took the 13-7 lead halfway through the sixth after scoring three in the third, three in the fourth, and four in the sixth. Vincennes brought across seven in the bottom of the sixth before the Jaguars added five more in the eighth to win the game 18-14.

Braxton Waller went 4-6 at the plate with 2 RBIs, while Drew Wichtowski went 2-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Beau Raikes earned six strikeouts.

(March 29th) Game 1 vs Vincennes
Danville struggled at home against the Trailblazers in their second doubleheader on Sunday. Vincennes scored in every inning and held the Jaguars to just three runs, and scored sixteen of their own to win game one 16-3.

Drew Wichtowski, Ethan Durbin, and Isaac Lawson each had an RBI, while Kendall Gregg had three strikeouts.

(March 29th) Game 2 vs Vincennes
Game two was similar to game one as Vincennes came out hot in the first inning, scoring eight runs. They held off Danville and added four more in the third inning to make it 12-0. The Jaguars scored two in the bottom of the fifth, but that was all they could get as Vincennes took game two 12-2.

Braxton Waller was 1-2 at the plate with 2 RBIs, and Landon Sitze had six strikeouts.

The Jaguars will face Lewis & Clark in a doubleheader on Friday, April 3rd in Godfrey, Illinois starting at 2pm, and will face them again in another doubleheader on Saturday, also in Godfrey.
