Lady Jaguars Win Big over Illinois Valley to Start 2020 Season

Wiley Leads Offense with 24 Points

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS - The Lady Jaguars are back in action and prove to be heading in the right direction. Coach Harris and company throttled Illinois Valley by the final score of 71-47 to start off the second half of the season. After a tough loss to Lake Land before the start of the New Year, the Lady Jaguars have been trending upwards and throughout this contest, five Lady Jaguars posted double digits in scoring.

Lauryn Wiley led the Jaguar offense with 24 points, while Rachel Spencer and Tarneisha Young both added 14 respectively. Maria Falanga continued to play tough basketball and chipped in with 10.

Coach Harris, "Although we started off slow, trying to find our groove, we picked it up executing and crashing the boards which opened up more scoring opportunities. Rachel Spencer has been a huge spark for us but she struggled in the first half going 1-12 but picked it up immensely in the second half in when she came out and scored 8 right away. Anaiya Robinson and Hunter Edwards played extremely well defensively and that ultimately helped open our offensive stats and getting the ball to their teammates. Ultimately, I'm pleased with our efforts and exciting to keep grinding with this group."

The Lady Jaguars are back in action this Thursday January 9th, when they take on Kankakee at home in a Thursday double header action starting at 5:30PM.
