Lady Jaguars Win Final Home Game of the Year

Beat Spoon River 82-39

DANVILLE, IL - In the final home game for the Jaguars, it was a nonstop show against the Snappers of Spoon River.

The game started out with a made free throw for the Jaguars before the ball was even tipped off. From there, Danville took a 7-0 run to start the first quarter. It was then 15-4 to end the first after a made free throw from Rylee Dowers. Stephanie Stephens jumped out quick in the second when she made a layup, followed by another layup from Jayla Greer. They then took an 18 point lead after a made basket from Jillisa Briggs. It was 31-19 at the end of the second quarter. The Jaguars shot 40% from field goals in the second quarter, and grabbed 6 offensive rebounds. They forced 9 total turnovers on the Snappers in the first half alone.

Jayla Greer started the third quarter off with a made jump shot, followed by back-to-back made baskets from Julissa Danglade, making the score 37-19. Rylee Dowers knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers, followed by another 3 from Keiara Gregory. Danville kept applying the pressure throughout the game as they held Spoon River to 19 points till there was 2:30 left in the third. It was 60-22 at the end of the third, and with consistency, Danville closed out the game 82-39 for their final home win of the year.

Danville shot 41.7% in field goals, they had 60 total rebounds with 35 of them being offensive rebounds. They scored 32 points off of turnovers, and got 26 points off of second chances. The Lady Jaguars are now 16-12 overall with a 4-8 conference record. Their last regular season game of the year is Saturday, March 2nd when they travel to Lincoln Land to face the Loggers at 1 pm.
