DACC Softball Hold 3rd Annual Green n' Gold World Series

Green Squad Edges Gold Squad in Series 2-1

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS - The DACC Softball team kicked off their fall scrimmage season with their third annual Green and Gold World Series. While dividing up the roster into two teams, the World Series showcased phenomenal hitting performances by multiple players, along with strong defensive plays and solid pitching.

Coach Cervantes, "I am excited for this season, we have a great group of girls who are working extremely hard. This being the third year in our Green n Gold World Series we had to come up with more creative ways to get our girls to compete."

There is always stuff riding on the line when it comes to the Green and Gold World Series. In years past we tried to have losing team cook dinner for winning team, but we always got sidetracked. This year, Sophomore Hailee Gifford brought up a wonderful idea on having the winning team pick out the losing teams outfits. Fantastic Idea!

Coach Cervantes, "We are extremely fortunate to have the numbers we do within our program that allow us to have such a fun event. I am so thrilled to see our girls compete against one another, especially when you have the stakes set for what they are by the players. Just five years DACC struggled to have a program, and now look at us! Very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community and college"

The DACC Softball team is set to begin their fall season this upcoming week with their first fall scrimmage against Purdue Northwest University on Saturday September 7th. Game times are slotted for 12PM and 2PM CST in Hammond, Indiana.
