7 Softball Players Awarded Region & Conference Honours

DANVILLE, IL - MWAC and Region 24 post season honors were named recently, and seven Jaguar softball players were honored.

Sophomore Rylee Richey and freshman Gloria Richardson were both named to the All-Region 24 team which is selected and voted on by the coaches in the region, and the team compiles of the 11 best players in the region. Richey has so far earned 186 strikeouts this season with a 20-3 record in the circle and an ERA of 2.47. She has 51 hits with 52 RBIs, and is currently batting a .392. Richardson is batting a .393 with 55 hits and 35 RBIs, and she has a .968 fielding percentage.

Richey and Richardson were both also named to the All-Conference 1st Team, as well as freshman Alyssa Acton. Acton has appeared in 41 games so far this year, and is batting a .426 with a .696 slugging percentage, and she has a .959 fielding percentage.

Sophomore Ali Grenzebach and freshman Molly Besser were named to the All-Conference 2nd Team. As a catcher, Grenzebach has a .985 fielding percentage, and has 33 RBIs and 40 hits. Besser has a .348 batting average and a .966 fielding percentage, with 24 hits and 10 RBIs.

Sophomores Kennedy Hudson and Amaria Wall were named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. Hudson has appeared in 42 games so far this season, and is batting a .306 with 25 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. Wall has appeared in 43 games this season, and has a batting average of .323 and a slugging percentage of .543 with 28 RBIs and 43 hits.
