Lady Jaguar Softball Announce 2020 Schedule

Coach Cervantes Excited for 2020 Spring

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS - The Lady Jaguar Softball program looks to build off another impressive spring season in which the Jaguars went 30-16.

Coach Cervantes, "We battled through a tough fall schedule that featured multiple NCAA D1, D2 and NAIA competitors and we are ready for the spring to be here. The girls have been working extremely hard in the weight room, along with their studies in the classroom and when the weather is cold like it is, it only makes us wanna be in season more"

This years 2020 schedule includes four double header dates with opponents who qualified for last years NJCAA National Tournament, including Sinclair, St.Louis (Home and Away), and ICC.  Last season, the Jaguars were able to accumulate wins against Kankakee (2), St.Louis (2) and Hagerstown (2), all of which qualified for the big dance in Clinton, Mississippi.  Fast Forwarding to Spring 2020, the Jaguars will take on a similar feat as they add Sinclair (2019 NJCAA Qualifier) ICC, and Kankakee.

As previous years, the Lady Jaguars will start their spring campaign in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The trip includes a rigorous schedule of 8-10 games in 5 days, with a beautiful beach front stay.  Once back home, the Lady Jaguars will begin their conference slate along with some midweek non-conference play.

Coach Cervantes, "Myrtle Beach has been great for us, we play tough competition, which included last years two win's against 2019 NJCAA National Qualifier Hagerstown, and it is something our squad looks forward to.  The girls have been working hard to earn the right to travel south and play.  This years Myrtle Beach schedule has not been released, but we expect to have a similar schedule as years past with top talent."

On top of Myrtle Beach, the Lady Jaguars will travel and host some of the nations best teams in the NJCAA.  The Region 24 Softball division is immensely populated with the toughest teams the NJCAA can offer.

Coach Cervantes, "We play in the toughest conference in the NJCAA. Every year all the teams duke it out in four game series and each year it gets tougher and tougher but that is what makes our conference/region great.  Without the great competition it would be difficult to compete and grind."

The Lady Jaguars will begin their season March 1st in South Carolina, their first home game is slated for March 21st when they host Sinclair in a double header beginning at 1PM at Winter Park.
