Baseball Splits with #15 Parkland on Tuesday

DANVILLE, IL - Danville baseball split their doubleheader on Tuesday with conference foe, Parkland College, winning game one and falling to the Cobras in game two.

Danville 1, No. 15 Parkland 0
The Jaguar's solo run that was scored in the bottom of the fourth was enough for Danville (7-23), as they held off Parkland (20-10) through the remaining three innings to get the win. Jackson Roberts got the win on the mound, pitching four innings, allowing only two hits, and striking out four batters. Jason Dorning was credited with the save as he threw the remaining two innings. Isaac Murray went 2-3 at the plate.

No. 15 Parkland 6, Danville 2
It was a different script in game two on the day as the Cobras were able to jump ahead early and hold the Jaguars offensively. The game was tied at one a piece after the first inning, but Parkland was able to score four runs in the third, earning the 5-1 lead. The Jaguars scored one in the fourth, then Parkland scored another in the seventh, bringing the score to 6-2. The eighth and ninth innings were both scoreless, ending the game with a Cobra win, 6-2.

Ethan Durbin and Garrett Fultz both went 2-4 at the plate, while Tyler Wetherell had four strikeouts.

Danville will play again on Saturday, April 12th when they travel to Peoria, Illinois to face Illinois Central.
