Baseball Loses to Lewis & Clark Tuesday Afternoon

SPRINGFIELD, IL - The bats didn't come alive for Danville in their loss against Lewis & Clark Community College Tuesday afternoon.

The Jaguars (5-21) faced the Trailblazers (17-12) for the fourth time this season, and gave up seventeen hits that led to their 11-3 loss. It was a scoreless game up till the fourth inning when Lewis & Clark got on the board, bringing one run across. They then scored two in the fifth and one in the sixth before Danville brought one across in the bottom of the sixth. The Trailblazers grabbed five runs in the seventh to go up 9-1, and then the Jaguars made it 9-2 in the bottom of the seventh. Lewis & Clark added two more runs in the top of the ninth to make it 11-2, and the Jaguars came up short in their last at bat, only scoring one run to make the final 11-3.

Chris Lewis went 3-5 at the plate, while Braxton Waller went 2-4 with one RBI, and Ethan Durbin went 2-5, also with one RBI.

Danville will play again on Saturday, April 5th when they travel to Champaign, Illinois to face 11th ranked Parkland College in a doubleheader starting at noon.
