Jaguars Pull Off Win in Last Regular Season Home Game

Jaguars beat Spoon River 72-51

DANVILLE, IL - The Jaguars fought against Spoon River last night in their final regular season home game.

The Jaguars, who are now 17-10 overall and 7-4 in the conference, handed the Snappers another loss as they won 72-51. Jaydin Dunlap scored the first basket of the game after Jaylen Simmons grabbed a steal. It was 12-9 with 10:25 to go in the first half after a pair of made free throws from Trevin Williams. The game was tied up at 15 after a made layup from Spoon River. Danville quickly responded after a made 3 and layup from Dreon Nunn, and the Jaguars closed out the first half 24-17 after a made layup from Williams.

They held the Snappers scoreless to start the second half and attacked the board with Lorenzo McMillion scoring the first three buckets of the second half, with two layups and a 3-pointer. Danville saw a lot of contribution off the bench as they scored 63 points from there. The Jaguars also scored 33 points off of the Snappers' turnovers, and they scored 36 points in the paint versus the Snappers' 26. It was 67-45 with 4:39 to go in the second half when Jae'Sean Martin knocked down a pair of free throws. The Snappers would only score 4 more points and Danville would score 5 more to close out the win, 72-51.

Danville shot 45.9% from field goal range, 40% from behind the arc, and 90.9% at the free-throw line. The Jaguar's last regular season game is on Saturday, March 2nd when they travel to play Lincoln Land at 3 pm following the women's game at 1 pm.
