Men's golf came out as the 2nd place team

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS - It was a beautiful, sunny day yesterday (Oct. 3) at the Danville Country Club where the 2022 Men's Golf MWAC Conference Tournament took place. It was a jam packed day of 36 holes played by all schools including Parkland College, Heartland Community College, Vincennes University, Illinois Central College, and Lewis & Clark Community College. The Jaguars were able to hold their own throughout the day and prove that they are one of the top contenders in the conference this year.

Caleb Lavender was able to come out in 3rd place on the individual board. He scored a total of 145, while the overall individual winner, Lucas Park from Parkland College, scored a 139 total. Grady Lancaster tied for 7th place with a 151, AJ Johnson placed 10th with a 152, Cameron Bergman tied for 16th with a 155, and Luke Mettemeyer tied for 26th with a 170. The team as a whole placed 2nd out of the six schools by scoring a 603. Parkland was the 1st place team who scored a 570. Heartland came in 3rd with a 606, Vincennes came in 4th with a 615, Illinois Central placed 5th with a 647, and Lewis & Clark came in 6th with a 667. 

The Jaguars will play once more in the fall season next Friday (Oct. 14th) at the Danville Country Club, alongside the Lady Jaguars golf team, where they will face Marian University's Ancilla College.
