Men's Golf Finishes 15th at Nationals

First DACC team to qualify

JOPLIN, MO - For the first time in program history, the DACC Men's Golf team advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament as a team.

The program has sent its fair share of individual players, but 2024 marked the first year that the whole team qualified. The crew of 5 earned their way to Nationals after finishing 3rd in the Region 24 tournament the week prior. They started the National tournament on Tuesday, May 21st in Joplin, Missouri where they began the 4 rounds of 18 holes. After day one, the team shot a 314. On day two, they were able to shoot a 312, day three was a 308, and the final day, day four, they shot a 316. They finished 15th overall out of 22 teams, closing out the tournament with a final total of 1250.

Individually, Grady Lancaster scored the highest out of the five Jaguars, finishing 32nd with a final score of 303. Blake Arnold scored a 313, finishing in 69th. Luke Mettemeyer and Cameron Bergman finished in 78th with a 317, and Zane Douglas shot a 351, finishing in 96th place. 

With that, the 2024 season comes to an end, where the team made history, qualifying for the first time as a DACC team.
