Coach Cervantes on the day, "I am impressed with our competitiveness and grit.  Our girls responded against a very tough Kirkwood squad.  They are #8 in the nation for a reason and it showed; however, we are right there with them.  I believe tonight showed we can and will compete with the best teams in the country, we need to work on our in-game strategy and cleaning up some defensive miscues, but ultimately our squad proved we are a top contender in the nation.  I know our pitchers did not have the best day, but to their credit taking on #8 in the country our second time out in the season and striking out one of the best offenses in the nation a total of 21 times in two games shows the potential and growth our staff gained tonight.  I am extremely proud of our team, the competitiveness and grit, along with our chemistry is starting to poke through, we have something very special here.  Our schedule is compacted with tough teams off the gate and we will need to use this loss tonight to help us prepare for the rest of our season."

The Jaguars will now shift their focus to Kaskaskia College on Tuesday, March 16th when they will host the blue angels in double header beginning at 3pm and 5pm.
