Mobley Puts the Trail Blazers Away, Jaguars win by 20

Alexus Mobley Tallies 18 in Win

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS – The Lady Jaguars needed a win and that is exactly what happened on Sunday afternoon.  The Jaguars defeated MWAC/Region 24 foe Lewis & Clark by a final score of 48-28.

The win gives the Jaguars their first win in conference and gives the team momentum moving into next week.

Leading the Jaguar charge was Alexus Mobley. Mobley added 18 points in the contest.  Freshman Allasha Alexander tallied 9 points, Sophomore Aniaya Robinson added 7 points, and Freshman Asaya Bulgin chipped in with 6.

Coach Harris, "We came out strong in the first half defensively, but we have to do a better job at coming out with the same defensive intensity in the second half. We turned the ball over way too much and we have to do a better job sharing the basketball.  Once we value the basketball more it will allow us to have more possessions to work with.  I am very proud about the step we took defensively.  Lex (Alexus Mobley) played great defensively and really put the team on her back."

The Jaguars will now shift their focus towards rival Parkland this upcoming week.  Currently, Parkland is ranked #6 in the nation according to NJCAA polls.  The Cobras are sitting with a perfect 7-0 record and have been averaging 73.1 points per game.  The Jaguars will host Parkland on Thursday, February 18th starting at 5:00 PM.  The men's basketball team will follow with their matchup slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
