McCoy Shows Out at Dechert Classic with 3rd Place Finish

Jaguars Improving as Fall Season Continues

DECATUR, ILLINOIS - The conditions were tough over the weekend, but that proved to be no feat for DACC Women's Golfer Mackenzie McCoy.  McCoy came into the classic as the leading charge within the DACC Women's Golf team by consistently shooting in the low 80's, but her level of play is nothing new for Coach Toler.

"Mackenzie's short game practice and her mental toughness with the course conditions really showed up in her game this weekend. Even though she was excited about her 3rd place finish she was disappointed in her back nine score on Sunday and knows what she needs to work 447on"

McCoy is the first ever tournament finisher for the DACC Women's golf, and can expect more top finishes in the future.  Coach Toler added, "I see Mackenzie's scores improving with her dedication and commitment to the game, with more wins in her future"

Overall, A great weekend for DACC Women's Golf. With windy conditions and a course that she had never played before Mackenzie McCoy's hard work and practice paid off with a 3rd place finish, giving DACC Women's Golf our first trophy.  Mackenzie shot an 85 and an 82 for a total of 167 with first coming in at 164. Over all the course played pretty flat on the front but the girls were really challenged on the back with rolling hills and lay up shots off the tee.
