Softball Improves Record to 41-11 After the Weekend

DANVILLE & QUINCY, IL - For the first time since the 2023 season, the Jaguars have reached 40+ plus wins, and are still looking to add more as they have six regular season games remaining.

(April 18th) Game 1 vs Lewis & Clark
Danville (41-11) hosted Lewis & Clark (2-43) on April 18th and was dominant in game one. The Jaguars shut out the Trailblazers and only allowed one hit, and scored all 8 of their runs in the bottom of the fourth. They held off Lewis & Clark in the top of the fifth to run-rule the game with an 8-0 victory.

Tristan Ring had a homerun and 4 RBIs, Chloe Hunt had 3 RBIs, and Paige Froess had 3 strikeouts.

(April 18th) Game 2 vs Lewis & Clark
The Jaguars were on the board first with 3 runs scored in the bottom of the first before the Trailblazers took the lead in the top of the third with 4 runs scored. Danville took back the lead with 5 runs in the fourth, and 2 more in the fifth. They held Lewis & Clark to just 3 runs in the sixth, then added 1 more in the bottom of the sixth, then closed it out in the top of the seventh with an 11-7 win.

Mia Herbert homered with 3 RBIs, and Ella Myers had 2 RBIs. Mackenzie Fasig had 2 strikeouts.

(April 19th) Game 1 vs John Wood
DACC turned around to play in another conference doubleheader on Sunday, facing John Wood (14-26). The Jaguars combined for 18 hits and 12 RBIs, and held the Blazers to just 5 hits. Danville responded after losing the lead in the first inning, scoring 3 runs and holding John Wood to just 1 in the third to make it 4-3. A big 6-run fourth inning propelled the Jaguars in front with a score of 10-3, then closed the game out early in the fifth with 7 more runs to make the final score 17-3.

Kaitlyn Drew, Ka'Leah Bellik, and Ella Myers each had 2 RBIs, and Paige Froess threw 8 strikeouts.

(April 19th) Game 2 vs John Wood
John Wood came out on fire in the second game of the day, scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the first. Danville got on the board with a run in the top of the second, but John Wood added 4 more between the third and the fourth inning. Danville scored 2 more in the fifth, but that was all they were held to as they lost game two, 11-3.

Mekaya Cihla had a homerun, Tristan Ring was 2-3 at the plate with an RBI, and Mackenzie Fasig had 2 strikeouts.

Up next...
The Jaguars will travel to Rockford, Illinois to face the 3rd ranked team in the country, Rock Valley College, in a doubleheader starting at 2pm on Wednesday, April 22nd. Their final home game will be a doubleheader against Heartland on Saturday, April 25th at 1/3pm, and they will close out the 2026 regular season with a trip to Springfield on Sunday, April 26th to face Lincoln Land in a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
