DACC Golf Programs Close out Fall with Stellar Finishes

Bunton and McCoy Lead Jaguars Heading into Spring

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS - The DACC Men's and Women's Golf Programs were added this past summer to the Danville Area Community College Athletic Department. Seemingly, Coach French and Coach Toler hit the recruiting trail in order to fill their rosters, and have seen immediate results on the course.

Coach French and the Men's Golf Team played a hefty schedule with it being their first time out and his golfers were up to the challenge. Andy Bunton, who is also a member of the DACC Baseball team led the way to earn an over all 6th place finish in the MWAC Championships this fall and to help his team to a 2nd place overall finish. Being the programs first year, we can only expect to see more success coming from the DACC Men's Program and with a 2nd place finish in the conference tournament is most definitely note worthy.

Overall, the Men's Program is headed in the right direction, along with the Women's Team. Coach Toler has taken a more aggressive approach to her coaching, but ultimately her team is prospering from her dedication. Mackenzie McCoy has begun to sign under her tutelage placing 2nd in the First Annual DACC invitational held yesterday. McCoy shot an 84 in her only round, only two strokes off the lead for her 1st potential championship. McCoy has continued to progress strongly throughout the course of the fall and is shooting out nicely heading into the winter off season.

The Jaguar Golfers head into the winter month's looking to hone in on their individual games to have a successful spring season. Both programs are seeing exceptional results and we can only look forward to many great seasons from Coach French and Coach Toler leading the way.
