DaJuan Gouard came to Danville Area Community College and the men's basketball program in June of 2010 as the top assistant for head coach Mike Carpenter.  He was named head coach and assistant athletic director in 2013 and has remained in that role ever since.  The basketball program since Coach Gouard's arrival has had nothing but success.  The Jaguars won 68 games during his three years as the top assistant, winning two conference championships, one Region 24 championship, and a berth in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.  

Gouard's second year as the head coach saw his Jaguars go 22-12 and in the national polls all season.  His 2015-2016 team finished with an overall record of 25-8 and once again in the national polls from start to finish.  He produced three NCAA Division I players off that roster.  The 2017-2018 team finished with an overall record of 27-8, ranked in the NJCAA top 15 all season, a 14-0 record on the road, and a 9th place finish at the national tournament.  Coach Gouard was named Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and Region 24 Coach of the Year in 2018.  The 2022-2023 team had one of the most successful seasons in school and league history.  The Jaguars finished the regular season with a 27-5 overall record, in the national polls almost every week, a final regular season national ranking of fourth, an unblemished 10-0 Mid-West Athletic Conference record, a Region 24 championship, and a third place finish in the national tournament.  Sophomore Kendall Taylor was named Third Team All-American and the Jaguars were awarded the Fred Pohlman Team Sportsmanship Award at the National Tournament.  Gouard was once again was named the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and Region 24 Coach of the Year.    

Gouard has coached a total of twenty-eight Mid-West Athletic Conference All-Conference players, 4 Mid-West Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, three NJCAA All-Americans, and seven NJCAA Academic Award Winners.

The Danville, Illinois native played four years at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, where he received his Bachelors Degree in 2005.  He then spent the next four years playing overseas in Europe and South America.
