Rockford, IL - The Danville Area Community College Jaguar volleyball team officially opened its 2026 season this weekend at the Opening Weekend Tournament in Rockford, Illinois, earning three wins in four matches and finishing the tournament with a 3-1 record.
(August 22nd) DACC vs Kankakee Community College
The Jaguars opened the tournament against Kankakee Community College, falling 3-1 in a competitive match. DACC dropped the first set 25-21 before responding with a 25-21 victory in the second. Kankakee took the third set 25-21 and closed out the match with a 25-11 fourth-set win.
Brenna Graddy led the Jaguars with seven kills, while Thayren Rigsby added six. Nadya Paredes recorded two aces and 11 assists, and Kendyll Spratt also finished with 11 assists. Kya Stahl helped anchor the defense with five digs. At the net, Aleeya Rudy recorded two solo blocks and three block assists.
(August 22nd) DACC vs Olive Harvey College
DACC bounced back in its second match of the day, sweeping Olive Harvey Community College 3-0. The Jaguars won the first two sets by close margins, 25-23 and 25-22, before pulling away in the third set, 25-10.
Graddy paced the offense with 12 kills, while Kaylee Barker added five. Spratt contributed 11 assists and two aces, with Tinley Parkerson recording 12 assists. Stahl finished with eight digs. Rudy recorded two solo blocks and one block assist, while Maddison Appl added two solo blocks and one block assist.
(August 23rd) DACC vs Blackhawk Technical College
The Jaguars carried the momentum into Day 2, opening the day with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Blackhawk Technical College. DACC controlled the match from the start, winning 25-19, 25-12 and 25-8.
Graddy and Barker led the Jaguars with 10 kills apiece. Parkerson directed the offense with 14 assists while adding three aces and three digs. Stahl recorded four aces and four digs, while Rudy provided a strong presence at the net with three solo blocks.
(August 23rd) DACC vs Bay College
DACC closed out the tournament with another convincing 3-0 victory, this time over Bay College. The Jaguars won 25-14, 25-18 and 25-13 to finish the weekend with three consecutive sweeps.
Graddy contributed eight kills and 13 pass receptions, while Rigsby added seven kills. Appl had a standout serving performance with six aces. Stahl recorded 10 digs, while Parkerson added seven digs. Rudy continued to make an impact defensively with five block assists.
