Victorious Weekend for Jaguar Softball

DANVILLE, IL - The Jaguars were on a roll this weekend as they hosted Oakton Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Game 1
Danville (29-9) combined for 18 hits and 18 RBIs to run rule the Owls (1-15) in game one 20-0. The Jaguars were up 2-0 at the end of the first, then scored 8 runs in the second to stretch it to 10-0. The team then scored 6 more in the third, and 4 in the fourth to take the win.

Mia Herbert was 3-4 at the plate with 6 RBIs, while Mackenzie Knowles and Allyson Truelove each had 3 RBIs. Jocelyn Peal got the win on the mound in game one with 2 strikeouts.

Game 2
In game 2, Danville went ahead 1-0 at the end of the first, but the Owls tied it in the top of the second. Danville responded well, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the second before Oakton brought it back within 1 when they scored 2 in the top of the third. The Owls then took the lead back after they scored 1 in the fifth and one more in the sixth, but the Jaguars answered with 4 in the bottom of the sixth. Danville held the Owls to just 1 run in the top of the seventh to take the 9-6 win in game two.

Ka'Leah Bellik was 3-3 at the plate with 3 RBIs, and Paige Froess got the win on the mound with 6 strikeouts.

The Jaguars will play at home on Wednesday, April 8th when they host Triton College in a doubleheader starting at 3pm.
