Jaguars Split Series with Illinois Central

DANVILLE & SPRINGFIELD, IL - Danville is nearing the end of their 2026 season, and recently played in one of their final two conference series. 

(April 18th) Game 1 vs Illinois Central
The Jaguars (21-21) fell behind against the Cougars (18-28) in the first inning after they scored 3 runs. DACC was able to cut the lead to 1 after scoring 2 in the bottom of the first, then took the lead at 5-3 after the second and third inning. ICC brought in 2 in the fourth, then the Jaguars scored 3 in the bottom half. The Cougars only brought in 3 more combined the remainder of the game, whereas Danville added on 7 to get the win 15-8.

Dallas Coleman was 2-2 at the plate, including a homerun, with 4 RBIs. Drew Wichtowski, Cameron Feuerborn, and Zach Russell each had 3 RBIs, and Eric Rodriguez had 7 strikeouts.

(April 18th) Game 2 vs Illinois Central
The Jaguars got on the board first in game two, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first. The Cougars responded though in the third, fourth, and fifth, combining for 8 runs to go up 8-2. Danville scored 1 in the sixth, the Cougars also scored 1 in the top of the seventh, and the Jaguars brought in 4 in the bottom half, but it wasn't enough to climb back as ICC won 9-7.

Drew Wichtowski had a homerun, and Landon Gudnason had 4 strikeouts. 

(April 19th) Game 1 vs Illinois Central
It was a slow offensive game as both teams combined for 10 hits and 5 runs. ICC scored 2 in the bottom of the second and Danville tied it in the top of the third. The Cougars brought in one more in the bottom of the fifth and held off the Jaguars the rest of the way to get the 3-2 win.

Drew Wichtowski had 1 hit with 2 RBIs, and Beau Raikes earned 10 strikeouts.

(April 19th) Game 2 vs Illinois Central
The Cougars grabbed the lead first in the second game on the day, with a 3-run homerun and another RBI just in the first inning. They then extended the lead in the second to 6-0 after a 2-run single. The Jaguars slowly tacked on runs, scoring 1 in the third, 1 in the fifth, 3 in the sixth, and then they took the lead in the seventh at 7-6 after scoring 2 more runs. ICC tied it in the bottom of the ninth that then sent the game into extra innings. Cameron Feuerborn singled in the top of the eleventh that scored a run to take the lead at 8-7. Danville was able to hold off ICC in the bottom of the eleventh to win the game. 

Jaydon Riggs was 2-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs, and Kendrick Johnson had 4 strikeouts.

Danville will play again on Thursday, April 23rd when they host John A. Logan College at the Stadium with game times starting at 1 and 3pm.
