Lady Jaguars Add 4 to the Win Column Over the Weekend

DANVILLE & NORMAL, IL - Jaguar softball improves their record to 27-9 after the final weekend of March, earning four wins against conference opponents.

(March 28th) Game 1 vs John Wood
Danville (27-9) cut the game short against the Blazers (7-17) on Saturday, run ruling John Wood in game one and taking the 10-2 victory. The Jaguars went on top after the first inning, bringing one run across. They added three more in the third, two in the fourth, and the Blazers added two in the fifth before Danville brought home four more to end the game early in five innings. 

Allyson Truelove went 1-2 at the plate with 2 RBIs, while Kendall Rannebarger went 3-3 at the plate with 1 RBI. Jocelyn Peal got the win on the mound with two strikeouts.

(March 28th) Game 2 vs John Wood
The Jaguars were victorious in game two, evenly spreading their offense and holding John Wood to just one run that was scored in the sixth. Danville scored first in the bottom of the first, added another in the third, and four in the fourth to sweep the doubleheader and win game two 6-1.

Kendall Rannebarger went 1-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs, while Mackenzie Fasig got the win on the mound with four strikeouts.

(March 29th) Game 1 vs Heartland
The Hawks of Heartland (7-13) were on the board first on Sunday, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first in response to Danville's one run in the top of the first. Heartland added to their lead with another run in the third, then Danville cut the lead to just two after bringing across another run in the fifth. The Jaguars took the lead at 6-4 after scoring four in the sixth, but then the Hawks tied it after bringing in two in the sixth. The game was sent into extra innings, and it was the Jaguars who acted first and scored three runs in the top of the eighth, then held off Heartland in the bottom half to take the 9-6 victory in game one.

Ava Olson and Tristan Ring both went 3-4 at the plate, with Olson having four RBIs and Ring having three RBIs. Paige Froess was awarded the win with four strikeouts. 

(March 29th) Game 2 vs Heartland
In comparison to game one, game two was low scoring and despite a late push from the Hawks, Danville held onto their three runs and held Heartland to just two runs scored in the sixth to take the 3-2 victory in game two.

Kaitlyn Drew went 3-4 at the plate, while Ella Myers, Tristan Ring, and Ka'Leah Bellik each had an RBI. Mackenzie Fasig got the win on the mound with six strikeouts.

Danville is scheduled to play again on Saturday, April 4th when they host Oakton Community College at home in a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
