Jaguars Go 2-2 Over Labor Day Weekend

PERRYSBURG, OH - It was another road trip for the volleyball team as they were in Ohio Friday and Saturday for the Owens Community College tournament. They went 2-2 on the weekend, securing the two wins on Saturday.

Danville 0, Mott 3
The first game on Friday didn't go Danville's way as they faced the Bears of Mott Community College. The Bears swept the Jaguars in three, winning the first set 25-20, the second 25-25, and the third 25-18. Danville only had 23 kills in comparison to Mott's 46. Brenna Graddy had 6 kills, while Halle Brazelton had 12 assists and 6 digs.

Danville 0, Vincennes 3
Game two on Friday was against Vincennes Unviersity who climbed back to take the 3-1 win after the Jaguars won set one. Danville took the set one victory, 25-20, but fell short in the next three, losing set two 25-11, set three 25-17, and set four 25-15. Freshman Nadya Paredes had herself a double-double for Danville with 15 assists and 13 digs. Aleeya Rudy had 8 kills, Kayln Cordes had 10 digs, and Halle Brazelton had 14 assists.

Danville 3, Clark State 0
The Jaguars bounced back on Saturday, earning two wins, the first being a sweep against the Eagles of Clark State College. Danville won set one 25-9, set two 25-13, and set three 25-19. The team combined for a total of 36 kills and held Clark State to only 13 kills. The Jaguars were led by Brenna Graddy with 11 kills, while Nadya Paredes had 13 assists and Halle Brazelton had 12 assists.

Danville 3, Oakland 0
In their final game of the tournament, Danville was able to get another sweep, this time over the Owls of Oakland Community College. They won set one 25-14, set two 25-23, and set three 25-15. Aleeya Rudy and Brenna Graddy each had 7 kills, while Peyton Williams had 8 digs.

The Jaguars will play again on Wednesday, September 3rd when they host the Cougars of Illinois Central College in the Mary Miller Gymnasium at 6 pm.
