Softball Slides Past Lewis & Clark in Doubleheader on Tuesday

DANVILLE, IL - Jaguar softball earned their 30th win this year on Tuesday as they swept the Trailblazers of Lewis & Clark at home.

Danville (30-9) now sits with a 15-3 conference record after beating Lewis & Clark (4-26) in both games of the doubleheader Tuesday. The Trailblazers had a 3-0 lead after the first inning, but it was the Jaguars who had a response in the second inning, scoring six runs to go up 6-3. Lewis & Clark was able to add another run in the fourth, but Danville brought across two more in the bottom half, three in the fifth, and one more in the sixth to end the game early with the 12-4 victory.

Lauren Kehl got the win in the circle with five strikeouts, while Pailei Cripe, Ella Myers, and Alex Brown each had two RBIs.

The Jaguars combined for fourteen hits in game two and run-ruled the Trailblazers in five innings to get the 9-1 win. Danville's three runs in the first, four in the third, and two in the fifth secured the win, and held Lewis & Clark to just their one run in the third.

Kenzie Fasig got the win in the circle for game two, only allowing six hits and striking out five batters. Kennedy Highley went 2-2 at the plate with two RBIs, while Mia Herbert went 2-3 at the plate also with two RBIs.

The Jaguars will play another doubleheader on Wednesday, April 23rd when they host Illinois Central in a conference matchup starting at 3 pm.
