MYRTLE BEACH, SC - DACC softball had huge success in South Carolina this week, going 7-1 at the Fastpitch Dreams Classic.

They won their first two games decisively on Sunday, March 2nd, beating Fayetteville Technical Community College 10-2 and Lackawanna College 10-6. Tournament play continued throughout the week as the Jaguars were set to play their remaining eight games in four days.

No. 14 Danville 10, Olney Central College 7
The Jaguars got started on Monday with a game against an Illinois opponent, Olney Central College. The Knights got on the board first in the top of the first, bringing across one run. Danville had a response though, scoring two runs in the bottom half, before Olney tied it at two in the top of the second, and then Danville got the lead back again in the bottom of the second, making the score 3-2. Both teams scored two runs in the fourth, but a big five run fifth inning for the Jaguars is what secured the win, holding off the Knights in the sixth and seventh, winning the game 10-7.

Kaitlyn Drew went 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs, while Chloe Hunt and Kennedy Highley each had two hits with one RBI. Alex Brown got the start in the circle and earned five strikeouts, and Dakota Harrison earned four.

No. 14 Danville 20, Monroe Community College 7
Offense was productive in game two on Monday for Danville when they were dominant in their victory over Monroe. The Jaguars were up 3-0 heading into the third when some unforced errors allowed Monroe to score seven runs in the top half of the inning, giving them the 7-3 lead. Danville cut the lead to just two when they brought in two runs in the bottom of the third. Danville would hold the Tribunes the rest of the game though, and went on to score eight runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, and six in the sixth, ending the game early in six innings, and getting the 20-7 victory.

Molly Besser got three hits with four RBIs, while Kaylee Kline was 5-5 with three RBIs. Jocelyn Peal got the win in the circle with five strikeouts.

No. 14 Danville 14, USC Union 3
It was a tied ball game Tuesday morning at one a piece against USC Union up until the sixth inning when the Jaguars put six more runs on the board to make it 7-1. Danville held the Bantams to only two runs in the bottom of the sixth before coming out in the seventh and scoring seven runs. The Jaguars held them scoreless in the bottom half, earning their fifth victory in Myrtle Beach, 14-3.

Chloe Hunt had four RBIs, while Marin Gonski, Mia Herbert, and Molly Besser each had two RBIs. Lauren Kehl had three strikeouts.

No. 14 Danville 6, Southern Maine Community College 2
Southern Maine was up 2-0 over Danville, not allowing the Jaguars to score up until the bottom of the fourth when Danville had a huge six run inning. The Jaguar's defense were able to put a stop on the Seawolves the rest of the game, holding them scoreless, giving them the 6-2 victory.

Gloria Richardson had two RBIs, while Molly Besser went 2-3 at the plate with one RBI. Jocelyn Peal pitched through all seven innings, sitting down four batters this game.

Danville began to play their first game on Wednesday before the weather kicked in and called the game short against Lackawanna College, and cancelling game two on Wednesday against Frederick Community College. The Jaguar's one loss on the week came on Thursday in their first game against Schoolcraft Community College when they lost 4-3.

No. 14 Danville 18, Frederick Community College 10
In the final game of the tournament, the Jaguars didn't let up. A combined eighteen hits led to their 18-10 victory over the Ocelots. It started with a Kaylee Kline single into left field that scored Gloria Richardson, that then went into a Kennedy Highley double that scored Kline and Marin Gonski in the first inning. Frederick tied the game up at three in the top of the second before Danville got the lead back in the bottom half by bringing in three more runs. The Ocelots scored one run in the third to make the score 6-4, Danville still with the lead. The Jaguars came back with five runs scored in the fourth, including a two-run homerun from Kaylee Kline. Frederick made the score 15-10 after scoring four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth, but another homerun from Kaylee Kline scored three Jaguars, ending the game in six innings with a 18-10 win.
