Lady Jaguars Improve to 16-7 Record

DANVILLE, IL - It was the 16th victory on the year for the Lady Jaguars as they topped the Blazers from John Wood Community College on Saturday.

Danville (16-7) held the Blazers (8-14) to just 24 points with a 20% field-goal percentage in the first half. The Jaguars were able to knock down baskets and force turnovers on John Wood, forcing 13 on them total, and converting them into 13 points. Danville also went to work in the lane on offense, earning themselves 32 points in the paint, and additionally had 17 points off of the bench. They took a 14-point lead at the half, and a 20-point lead at the end of the third. They stretched the lead to 25 points with 24 seconds remaining in the game, and got the 79-56 win when the buzzer sounded.

Keiarra Gregory was the leading scorer for Danville with 21 points, while Tangee Gagau scored 18, and Ayanna Smith scored 10.

Danville will head to Champaign, Illinois Wednesday, February 5th when they face Parkland College starting at 5:30 pm.
