Lady Jaguars Grab 2 Wins Back-to-Back

OLNEY & ROBINSON, IL - Danville women's basketball was able to come out on top in both of their games on Friday and Saturday, improving their overall record to 4-5.

Danville vs Olney Central (Friday)
The Jaguars (4-5) got their win back as the first time they faced the Knights (4-5), they lost by 21 points. But Danville bounced back in the rematch as they topped Olney Central 86-79. They ended the first quarter with the Jaguars in the lead at 19-18, then outscored the Knights 24-19 in the second quarter to go up 43-37 at the half. Again, the Jaguars outscored Olney 22-21 in the third quarter, then came out even at 21 a piece in the fourth, but it was Danville who got the win.

Freshman Alexa Jamison led both teams with her career high 34 points, while Aleah Emers added 13. 

Danville vs Lincoln Trail (Saturday)
The Jaguars had to come back out for their second game of the weekend on Saturday as they faced the Statesmen of Lincoln Trail (2-6) on the road. Danville was up 15-13 at the end of the first, but Lincoln Trail tied it at halftime at 36. The Jaguars were efficient in the second half, going up 60-58 at the end of the third, and then held the Statesmen to just 14 points in the fourth, and scoring 23 of their own to win the game 83-72.

Alexa Jamison was the leading scorer with 30 points, while Madison Jobe added 14 points.

Danville won't play again till Wednesday, December 3rd when they host Governor's State University at home starting at 5:30 pm.
