Lady Jaguars Fall to Parkland

DANVILLE, IL - Lady Jaguar basketball couldn't seem to find their rhythm last night in a conference matchup against the Cobras from Parkland.

Danville (12-4) hosted Parkland (9-7) for their second conference game of the season thus far. The Cobras jumped out quick in the first quarter and got out to a 17-8 lead heading into the second quarter. The Jaguars had some turnovers that Parkland was able to convert off of, and shots weren't falling for Danville. It was 40-22 going into halftime, and Parkland stretched their lead to 20 points early in the third. The Jaguars weren't able to close the gap enough to come back and get the win. Parkland closed out the game with a 75-60 victory.

Danville struggled offensively, only shooting 39.3% from field-goals, 14.3% from 3-pointers, and 66.7% from the free-throw line. Keiara Gregory was the leading scorer of the game with 22 points, while Victoria Gonzalez and Tangee Gagau each had 10.

The team will hit the road this Saturday the 11th to Canton, Illinois to play another conference game against the Snappers of Spoon River starting at 1 pm.
