Men's Basketball Stuns #14 Spoon River in Thursday Night Matchup

DANVILLE, ILLINOIS - THe Men's Basketball team hosted Spoon River in a MWAC showdown on Thursday night. The Snappers have been hot throughout the season, holding down the #14 spot nationally the in the NJCAA Polls, along to support their 14-6 record. Danville stunned the Snappers on Thursday night, defeating Spoon River 84-69. The win comes together through a hard fought season of obstacles; however, Coach Dajuan Gouard feels his team is moving in the right direction at the right time.

Coach Gouard, "We are finally starting to catch our groove and play our style of basketball. Every team has been battling through this season along with ours, it's great to see our style of play come to light towards the end of the season when the timing is right for post season."

Leading the Jaguars offensively was Freshman Lewis Richards. Richards added 23 points on the night. Sophomore Daylen Davis-Williams recorded a double-double on the night scoring 14 points to add to his 11 rebounds. Freshman Drew Reifsteck chipped in with 16 points for the Jaguars. Freshman Kameron Barnett added 11 as well.

The Jaguars will host Rend Lake on Sunday to finish out the 2021 regular season.
