Jamil Wilson Scores 22 with Win over Lincoln Land

Danville, Illinois - The Jaguars basketball program has been tested in their last 3 games. Playing tough competition is nothing new to Coach Gouard and his basketball program, the only difference is when you have to play the tough teams in the last three games. Coming off losses from #4 South Suburban, #7 Parkland, and #17 Illinois Central College the Jaguars faced off the Loggers of Lincoln Land Community College on Wednesday night.

The Jaguars started off hot, leading at half 47-22, and they did not cool off as they handed the Loggers a dominating loss 87-56. Leading the way in scoring was Jamil Wilson (Louisville, Kentucky) with 22 points, and aiding to his success was Jefty Sultzer (Indianapolis, Indiana) and Madison Lowery (Chicago, Illinois) who both chipped in with 16 points.

The win brings the Jaguars overall record to 11-9 and 1-2 in MWAC Conference and Region 24 play. The next scheduled test for the Jaguars will be a remake of last years Region 24 Championship battle between the John Wood Blazers. The Blazers coming in are 11-12 on the year and 1-1 in Region 24 play. The contest will be played in Mary Miller Gymnasium on Saturday, February 9th starting at 3:00 pm.

During the women's game, Coach Harris and company did not have the same result as the men. The Lady Ja

guars lost in the contest 75-59 to Lincoln Land dropping their overall record to 2-14. However, Coach Harris and her squad have been improving each and every outing competing in a tough MWAC Conference.

Leading the way for the women was Kylie Vogel (Fairbury, Illinois) with 21 points and helping her was Lela McCoy

adding 17. Comparable to the men, the Lady Jaguars next test will be Saturday, February 9th as they take on John Wood. The Lady blazers come into the contest with a 12-9 overall record and 0-2 record in Region 24 play.
