Assistant Coach Kelley Cervantes joined the Danville Area Community College coaching staff in August of 2014. As a former Big 10 softball player, Coach Cervantes brings plenty of knowledge and experience to the Jaguar softball program.

Kelley is originally from Anaheim, California. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2009 to 2012 as a member of the Fighting Illini softball team. She was a 4 year starter 3rd baseman for the Illini where she was named to the Third Team All-Big Ten team in her freshman season. She was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten team in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She was named Big Ten Player of the Week during her sophomore season. Her junior year, she was named to the Getterman Classic All-Tournament Team, and her senior year, she was awarded the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. She graduated in 2012 with her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Communications. From 2012 to 2017, Coach Cervantes was an Assistanct Coach for a travel softball program. From 2014 to 2017, she was also the Head Coach of the softball program at Unity High School in Tolono, Illinois. 

Coach Cervantes' role as the Assistant Coach of the Jaguars is leading the student-athletes in mandatory study hours, weight training, and conditioning. She helps lead the Jaguars in learning and growing with fielding, hitting, and pitching. She has helped the Jaguars to 3 NJCAA National Tournament appearances, with back-to-back trips happening in 2022 and 2023. She guided the team to District P Champions in 2017, and District B Champions in 2022 and 2023. The team has also had 7 seasons with 30+ wins, with back-to-back seasons with 40+ wins. They were also Region 24 Champions in 2022, and NJCAA Top 25 National poll finishers for the past 7 years, with their highest ranking being 7th. Coach Kelley has coached 35 players named to MWAC All-Conference honors, 19 players to All-Region 24 honors, 5 players to NJCAA Athletic All-American honors, and 26 to NJCAA Academic All-American honors. 

Kelley resides with her husband, Matt Cervantes, and their two children Parker and Gable. Kelley has been coaching alongside Head Coach Matt for the past 9 seasons at DACC. They are also co-founders and instructors at the T3 Sports Academy in Tilton, Illinois.
