Rick Voyles

Rick Voyles was hired to the Danville Area Community College staff in the 2010-11 season as he joined the Men's Basketball program as the Top Assistant Coach. Coach Voyles has been coaching alongside current head coach DaJuan Gouard since that season. 

Rick is a graduate of Danville High School. He was a student-athlete here at DACC as a player on the basketball team. He received his Associate's Degree in Business in 1998 before he transferred onto Greenville University where he played basketball from 1989 to 1992, and then received his Bachelor's Degree in '92 in Business Management.  

As the Top Assistant Coach, he helps the Jaguars with on the floor coaching and the development of player's skills. He is in charge of recruiting, as well as, weightlifting and conditioning, and monitoring academics. There have been 6 seasons where Coach Voyles has been an integral piece of the Jaguars having 20+ win seasons. In 2012 and 2013, as well as 2023, Voyles has assisted in coaching the Jaguars to win MWAC Conference titles. In 2012, the team made it to the NJCAA National Tournament and placed 8th overall. Also during that season, the team had a 17-game win streak. In 2018, they made it to the tournament with a 9th place finish. Then the most previous season (2022-23), the team placed 3rd in the nation at the tournament. He worked with Coach Gouard to accumulate 245 total wins, and they also hold a school record for the most wins in a single season with 28. Rick has coached players to MWAC All-Conference selections, All-Region 24 selections, Freshman of the Year honors, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team NJCAA All-Americans.
