Coach Baker joined Danville Area Community College in April 2025 as the Head Cross Country Coach. Originally from Nevada, Iowa, Baker ran cross country at Iowa Central Community College for two years where he also earned his Associate's in Arts degree. After completing his two years there, he then transferred onto Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa to complete his remaining time as an undergraduate. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in sports performance in 2023 from Upper Iowa, and then went onto earn his Master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Administration from Upper Iowa in 2025.Â
Before being brought on here at DACC, Coach Baker became the recreation center graduate assistant after graduating from Upper Iowa. That job presented him with the opportunity to assist the head cross country and track coach at the university in practices and other additional tasks. Additionally, Baker has also earned his USATF Developmental Coach Certificate.
