PEORIA, IL - The Danville Area Community College Jaguars volleyball team battled the Illinois Central College Cougars but ultimately fell 3-0 in their latest matchup. Illinois Central took the three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-23.
After dropping the opening set, the Jaguars responded with a stronger effort in the final two sets. DACC stayed within striking distance throughout both, but the Cougars were able to close out each set by the same 25-23 score.
Maddison Appl led the Jaguars offensively with seven kills, while Kaylee Barker added four kills. Kendyl Spratt contributed four kills and directed the DACC offense with 14 assists, while also recording five digs.
Nadya Paredes provided a spark from the service line with three aces. At the net, Aleeya Rudy recorded two block assists.
The Jaguars also received strong defensive efforts from their back row. Kay Stahl led DACC with 10 digs, while Tinley Parkerson added seven digs.
