CANTON, IL - The Danville Area Community College Jaguar volleyball team picked up a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Spoon River College Snappers, winning a thrilling five-set match by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 20-25 and 15-13.
DACC came out strong, taking the first two sets and putting the Jaguars within one set of closing out the match. Spoon River answered back, however, winning the third and fourth sets by identical 25-20 scores to force a decisive fifth set.
With the match on the line, the Jaguars held their composure in the final set, edging the Snappers 15-13 to secure the victory.
Kaylee Barker led DACC with nine kills and added three block assists, while Aleeya Rudy provided a strong presence at the net with seven kills, two solo blocks and seven block assists. The Jaguars also received a strong defensive effort from Kya Stahl, who recorded 18 digs. Maya Smith contributed 10 digs to help keep DACC in the match during the back-and-forth battle. Nadya Paredes led the Jaguars with 15 assists, while Tinley Parkerson added 12 assists to help guide the DACC offense throughout the five-set contest.

Danville will play in the Sonny Lewis Invitational in Perrysburg, Ohio on Friday and Saturday. They will face Oakland Community College at 5:00 pm and Lorain County Community College at 7:00 pm on Friday, then they will face Owens Community College at 10:00 am and Cuyahoga Community College at 12:00 pm on Saturday.
