Volleyball Falls to 6-8 Over the Weekend

VINCENNES, IN & CHAMPAIGN, IL - The Jaguars were on the road this past weekend for a couple of tournaments where they went 1-3.

Danville 1, Ellsworth 3
Danville came out strong in the first set of the first game at the Classic as they won 25-23, but came up short in the next three to lose game one to Ellsworth, 3-1. The Jaguars only hit .155 in comparison to Ellsworth's .260. Brenna Graddy had 13 kills, while Halle Brazelton had 17 assists and Nadya Paredes had 16 assists. Kya Stahl added 10 kills.

Danville 0, Wabash Valley 3
Game two in Vincennes was against Wabash Valley where the Warriors held Danville to only 22 kills to get the 3-0 victory. Wabash Valley won set one 25-17, set two 25-13, and set three 25-22. Danville just wasn't able to get their offense going as Desiree Glaze and Peyton Williams each had 5 kills, and Halle Brazelton had 11 assists.

(Parkland Quad)
Danville 3, Rend Lake 1
The Jaguars came out and won set one against Rend Lake in the Parkland Quad on Sunday, 25-18, and lost set two 25-11, before winning set three 25-19 and set four 27-25 to get the 3-1 win. Brazelton's 19 assists and Paredes' 18 assists helped lead Danville to the win, in addition to Kalyn Cordes' 16 digs and Aleeya Rudy's 11 kills.

Danville 2, Waubonsee 3
It was a back and forth battle for the last game of the weekend against the Chiefs. Waubonsee took set one 25-16, Danville won set two 28-26, Waubonsee won set three 25-23, Danville won set four 25-18, but it was the Chiefs who took set five and got the victory, 15-11. Aleeya Rudy earned herself a double-double with 14 kills and 16 digs. Peyton Williams had 21 digs, while Brazelton had 25 assists and Paredes had 22 assists.

Danville will play again at home on Wednesday, September 10th when they host Lewis & Clark at 6 pm.
