Volleyball Falls to 6-13 Overall Over the Weekend

NORMAL, IL - Danville volleyball was on the road again over the weekend as they were in Normal, Illinois for Heartland Community College's Invitational.

Danville 0, #4 Heartland 3 (Friday)
The Jaguars had a hard time getting things going on Friday against the fourth ranked Hawks as they combined for just a .025 hitting percentage on the game. Heartland won in a straight three sets 25-11, 25-14, and 25-12. Kayln Cordes had 13 digs, while Brenna Graddy had 4 kills.

Danville 2, Rock Valley 3 (Friday)
It was another five set battle for Danville as they played the Eagles of Rock Valley in their second game on Friday. Rock Valley won set one 25-21, Danville won set two 25-20, Rock Valley won set three 25-15, Danville won set four 25-15, but Rock Valley took set five 15-8 to get the 3-2 victory. Halle Brazelton had 21 assists, while Brenna Graddy had 15 kills.

Danville 1, #11 Sauk Valley 1 (Saturday)
The Jaguars faced their second ranked opponent on the weekend on Saturday, coming up just short to Sauk Valley 3-1. Danville came out strong, winning the first set 25-22, but the Skyhawks took the next three (25-19, 25-12, 25-22) to win the match. Nadya Paredes had 15 assists, while Peyton Williams had 9 kills.

Danville 0, #6 Parkland 3
The team's final game of the weekend was against conference foe and sixth ranked Parkland College, where the Cobras swept the Jaguars 25-15, 25-14, and 25-20. Danville combined for just 20 kills, with Nikita Taylor and Peyton Williams each having 5 kills, and Nadya Paredes having 10 assists.

The Jaguars will play again on Wednesday, September 17th when they travel to Champaign, Illinois to face Parkland College again in a regular matchup starting at 6 pm.
