5 Set Thriller Ends in Loss to Lewis & Clark Wednesday Night

DANVILLE, IL - Jaguar volleyball is now 6-9 overall as they came up short to Lewis & Clark Community College Wednesday evening in the Mary Miller Gymnasium.

The Trailblazers (5-7) extended the match to five sets after Danville took set one 25-20, Lewis & Clark won set two 25-19, Danville won set three 25-23, Lewis & Clark won set four 25-23, and then set five 15-13 to secure the match victory. It was a back and forth battle between the two Region 24 teams as many ties and lead changes occurred throughout the entire game. The Jaguars were down by quite a few points before they climbed back in the fifth set, but came up just short when the Trailblazers were on match point and won the game.

Peyton Williams had herself a double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs. Halle Brazelton had 26 assists, and Kayln Cordes contributed 11 digs.

Danville will play in the Heartland Community College Invite this weekend as they have a doubleheader on Friday when they face #4 Heartland at 1 pm and Rock Valley at 3 pm. Saturday they will play #11 Sauk Valley at 10 am and #6 Parkland at 12 pm.
