Overtime Win for Women's Basketball Against Snappers

DANVILLE, IL - It was a scrappy contest on Saturday between the Jaguars of Danville Area Community College and the Snappers of Spoon River.

The defensive pressure applied from Danville (17-8) against Spoon River (4-19) helped them get the 54-46 overtime victory after falling to Parkland this past Wednesday. The Jaguars held the Snappers to just a 8.3 3-point percentage and a 29.4 field-goal percentage on the game. They were able to force 19 turnovers on Spoon River, converting them into 18 points. A made free-throw from Victoria Gonzalez with a minute to go in the fourth tied the game up at 46, and a defensive stop on the other end from the Jaguars sent the game into overtime. A pair of made free-throws and a 3-pointer from Addison Seggebruch helped push Danville past the Snappers, earning their 17th overall win on the season.

Victoria Gonzalez was the leading scorer of the game with 18 points, as well as 11 rebounds. Addison Seggebruch scored 13 points, while Ayanna Smith and Jaydah Arrowsmith both added 8.

Next up for the Jaguars is a trip to Godfrey, Illinois to face Lewis & Clark College with tipoff starting at 5:30 pm.
