Lady Jaguars Fall to Cobras on the Road

CHAMPAIGN, IL - Jaguars women's basketball struggled against the Cobras Wednesday night on the road as Parkland snagged the 86-59 win in Champaign.

Danville (16-8) faced #25 Parkland (15-9) for the second time this season, this time at the Donald C. Dodds Jr. Athletic Complex. The Jaguars turned the ball over 12 times in just the first quarter, leading them to fall behind 10 points at the end of the first ten minutes. It was 49-28 Parkland going into halftime, and an additional 21 points were scored by the Cobras in the third to put them up 70-39 entering the fourth. Parkland maintained the lead and came out with the 86-59 win.

Danville was held to 24-57 in field-goals, 9-23 in 3-pointers, and just 2-4 at the free-throw line. Victoria Gonzalez led Danville with 21 points, while Jaydah Arrowsmith added 13, Addison Seggebruch had 8 points, and Julissa Danglade grabbed 12 rebounds.

Up next for the Jaguars is a home contest against the Snappers of Spoon River College this Saturday with game time starting at 1 pm.
