Women's Basketball Loses on the Road to #10 Illinois Central

PEORIA, IL - The Cougars got out to a quick start in the first quarter to hold their lead over Danville for the entire game.

The Jaguars (18-10) traveled to Peoria Wednesday night to face the 10th ranked Illinois Central Cougars (21-6). Illinois Central held the Jaguars to a 30.8% field-goal percentage in the first quarter, while Danville wasn't able to stop the Cougars on their offensive end, where they shot 62.5% in field-goals and 60% from the 3-point line, going up 26-11 at the end of the first. The scoreboard read 53-28 at the half, and 74-44 at the end of the third. The Cougars maintained their lead, and held Danville off to get the 95-77 win.

Keiara Gregory led all scorers with 26 points, while Tangee Gagau added 19, and Victoria Gonzalez contributed 17.

The Jaguars will be off for a week till next Wednesday when they travel to Centralia, Illinois to face Kaskaskia College at 5:30 before wrapping up the regular season with their final home game against Lake Land College on Saturday, March 1st at 1 pm.
