Women's Basketball Falls to #9 Lincoln Land

DANVILLE, IL - The Lady Jaguars weren't able to keep the first quarter momentum going against the Loggers of Lincoln Land on Saturday.

Danville (18-10) had a 5 point lead halfway through the first quarter against #9 Lincoln Land (24-2), knocking down shots and holding the Loggers to a 29.4 field-goal percentage. The Loggers went up by 4 with a little over three minutes to go in the first quarter, before Keiara Gregory hit a 3-pointer to cut it to a 1 point lead at the end of the first. Lincoln Land then went on to score 27 points in the second quarter, stretching their lead to be 43-26 going into halftime. They continued to run with it in the second half, applying pressure to Danville and forcing 8 turnovers in the second half. The Jaguars weren't able to bounce back to cut the lead, falling to the Loggers with a final score of 82-60.

Tangee Gagau was the leading scorer of the game with 29 points, while Keiara Gregory added 7.

Danville will head to Peoria, Illinois Wednesday, February 19th to play #7 ranked Illinois Central College at 5:30 pm.
