DACC Volleyball Goes 3-1 at Parkland Mid-Season

CHAMPAIGN, IL - The Jaguars were able to get some momentum going over the weekend as they played in the Parkland Mid-Season, winning 3 games and losing just one.

Danville 3, Kankakee 1 (Friday)
In the first game of the weekend, Danville came out strong against the Cavaliers, winning set one 25-14, set two 25-18, losing set three 20-25, but coming back and winning set five 25-20. Aleeya Rudy and Brenna Graddy came up big this game, with Rudy hitting a .529, going 9-17. Graddy had 12 kills in her performance. Kayln Cordes contributed 18 digs, while Halle Brazelton had 21 assists. 

Danville 3, Madison College 1 (Friday)
In another close matchup, the Jaguars held the Wolves to only four sets. The first set went into extra points, with Danville winning 27-25. Danville also won set two 25-15, lost set three 21-25, but won set four 25-23 to win the game. Danville held the Wolves to just a .080 hitting percentage, while the Jaguars swung .197 on the game. Peyton Williams had 20 digs and 9 kills in this game, while Brenna Graddy also contributed 9 kills, and Kayln Cordes had 14 digs.

Danville 3, Delta College 1 (Saturday)
The Jaguars were back in action on Saturday with their first game against Delta College. The Ducks came out on top in set one, winning 23-25, but it was the Jaguars the next three sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-22) to win the game. Graddy led the team in kills once again, earning 13 and hitting .207 on the game. Kayln Cordes and Peyton Williams each had 17 digs, while Halle Brazelton had 23 assists. 

Danville 1, Morton College 3 (Saturday)
In their final game of the invite, Danville faced the Panthers of Morton College, where they came up short in four sets. The Jaguars won a decisive first set 25-18, but lost the second 12-25, the third 21-25, and the fourth 25-27. Graddy had 15 kills, while Cordes had 14 digs, and Brazelton had 20 assists.

The Jaguars will be back home on Wednesday, October 8th as they host conference foe, John Wood Community College at 6 pm.
